CES 2006 is only days away, and Norcent plans to announce an assortment of new computer and home entertainment products

CES 2006 will give consumers a glimpse into some of the products that we can expect to see in the future.  We already hear from our PR wires that Norcent promises to have a strong showing when it announces an array of new products.

Digital cameras are an example of another product that electronics consumers simply cannot get enough of.  Norcent will be announcing the DC-820, an 8 megapixel digital camera that is barely over an inch thick and weighs only 4.9 ounces.  It'll have a 2.4"-inch color LCD that will allow users to view still images and video.  The DC-820 will have 3x optical zoom and 4x digital zoom, which allows users a little bit of flexibility for photo taking.  Consumers can expect to spend around $299.99 when the product is released. For $100 less, potential customers can look for the DC-520, which is 5 megapixels with 3x optical and 4x digital zoom.

When most PC enthusiasts look for a new monitor, it goes without saying that some sort of LCD monitor is the top choice.  During CES 2006, Norcent will also introduce three new LCD displays.  The three models that they will announce include the 17” LM-763, 19” LM-962 and 19” widescreen LM-965W.

Both the LM-763 and LM-962 will have a resolution of1280 x 1024 with a 500:1 contrast ratio and a 8ms response time.  These models will be more for the people that are doing casual Internet browsing or watching a movie.

The LM-965 is a bit more interesting, with a 1440 x 900 WXGA resolution with a 500:1 contrast ratio.  This monitor is ideal for the users that will be running graphic intensive programs or games.  The LM-965 has an estimated street cost of $349.99 but will likely sell for much less, our sources say.

Finally, Norcent will be unveiling Norcent SD memory cards that feature 512MB, 1GB, and 2GB storage capacities.  If you need a CompactFlash card, Norcent will be unveiling 512MB, 1GB, 2GB and 4GB models. We will be bringing live reports from the CES 2006 show floor, so stay tuned!

"We are going to continue to work with them to make sure they understand the reality of the Internet.  A lot of these people don't have Ph.Ds, and they don't have a degree in computer science." -- RIM co-CEO Michael Lazaridis
