Logitech is a company that will most likely have a big year in 2006, and it all begins at CES

The Consumer Electronic Show (CES) 2006 will be starting in two days in Las Vegas, Nv.  Logitech, one of the most popular companies for PC enthusiasts, will be at CES in a big way.  Seven Logitech products were named 2006 CES Innovations award winners earlier today in New York by the Consumer Electronics Association.  The seven products include three mice, one keyboard, a keyboard/mouse combo, a universal remote, and a webcam.

Releasing quality gaming peripherals has become a very profitable business for tech companies. The Logitech G5 (corded) and G7 (cordless) laser gaming mice will both be on display at CES.  Both mice have a maximum resolution up to 2000 dpi and can be changed on the fly.  The Logitech G15 gaming keyboard, which has a built-in auxiliary LCD display, allows for lots of programmability and control, will also be at CES.

Two new wireless stereo headsets for mobile phones will also be previewed during CES.  Users will be able to listen to music and conduct phone calls on phones that take advantage of Bluetooth wireless technology and Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP).  The headphones are designed to allow users to easily switch from enjoying a song to participating in a conference call.  The headsets will be publicly available in the spring.  Potential customers should expect to spend a suggested retail price of $129.99 on the headsets.

Not only will the seven award winning Logitech products be on display, the company will have speakers, headphones, webcams, keyboards and mice at the tech event.  In addition to the company having all of these different gadgets on the floor, Logitech will be holding three different industry panels that will also let attendees to participate and interact with the company. We will be bringing live reports from the CES 2006 show floor, so stay tuned!

Where's the G1?

As a very happy owner of an MX300, I was saddened when I found out Logitech had discontinued it, then made happy again to find Logitech has ressurected it as a G1, but WHERE is the G1? Seems almost nobody carries it in the US.

I think Logitech is missing a lot of the market with these ergonomic mice, as the average computer user isn't a gamer (though I happen to be, but am left-handed).

New Wireless Keyboard

Hopefully Logitech will unveil a bundled wireless keyboard to go with the G7 mouse.

Their response when I asked a question a couple of weeks ago about a separate wireless keyboard to use with the G7....

Dear ----,

Thank you for your recent inquiry about your Pointing Devices.

I understand that you would like to obtain a stand alone Cordless keyboard from Logitech.

Unfortunately, all the Cordless keyboards available are sold along with the mouse.

I apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused.

Sure don't want to give anything away do they?
