Yeah, I have no need for a "smart" phone. A plain cell phone that can do a bit of texting in a pinch is all I require.

And yet you gave a $@#%" enough to comment.

Not the best worded survey...

Yet another survey from DailyTech which uses emotional wording.

For example, my heart and soul do not belong to Windows Phone, but I am waiting to upgrade from my flip phone for a good Windows Phone device.

While these emotionally worded surveys probably get more notice, a simpler survey would provide more accurate results.

Bless your heart. You're clearly new around here and haven't noticed that DT is all about the emotional response because it drives page clicks.

The dialogue, internal or external, which prompted the planning of said survey probably went like this:

Brandon Hill: "We should make a survey about the iPhone 5!"
BH's Internal Dialogue: "Yeah! We'll totally make Apple customers see how stupid they are for wanting to buy one. Just wait!"
BH: "You bet we will Internal Dialogue. Android totally pwns the new iPhone."
BH's ID: "Android pwnage, Apple fanbois, Samsung, and pageclicks! OMERGADS this is going to be AWESOME!!"

Dump smartphones

I´d like to have a swivel phone like the Sharp Aquos S007 SH with digital terrestrial TV, dual core cpu, mini HDMI, xenon flash.
No IOS/Android style, no 100,000 spyware apps, no annoying eye candy, no stupid home screen scrolling.

Cool they could sell 1 for no profit. I bet they start building it for you today!

iPhone5 is... playing catch up?
By jesman0 on 9/13/2012 4:03:58 PM , Rating: 2
Seems to me all it's doing is gaining features other phones have had for a while now.

I honestly wasn't gonna be happy unless the ifonefive was essentially an even MORE awesome Kyocera Echo.

I love the connecter BTW. Didnt you know the other one was the reason the phone was SO thick? Thank god they thought of that.

Samsung Galaxy S3 is a great phone

I love my Galaxy S3. I would hate to have to downgrade to an iPhone and lose all of the ability to customize I have on Android.

done with it

between the crap they are doing like suing frigging online supermarkets and releasing the latest unimaginative iteration of same ol same ol, im done with the iphone; and ive had the last two.

it is boring and plain ; probably give it to my grandma now - WP8 looks the pick of the bunch, hopefully the lumia 920 gets here by the year end.

What is really new ?.
By fteoath64 on 9/15/2012 10:50:28 PM , Rating: 2
There is nothing much to offer over the old model except for more speed. So who is buying speed for a smartphone ?. People pay for functionality and features. Even a sports car enthusiast buys more than speed in a car, they tend to prefer the "other things" like better handling or better interior or equipment.

Basically, it is nothing really new in the iPhone 5 except for the name. Many cannot seem to know they are buying the almost the same phone since 2007. What a business for Apple!.

Oh DailyTech...

I love how much bile your readers spew about Apple and the iPhone, yet in this survey over 50% of respondants are ordering or are waiting to order one. Just goes to show how loud hatred can be.

"Paying an extra $500 for a computer in this environment -- same piece of hardware -- paying $500 more to get a logo on it? I think that's a more challenging proposition for the average person than it used to be." -- Steve Ballmer
