Mahesh Telecomm has announced via Twitter, that the Vivo V5 Plus is now available for pre-order. This selfie smartphone will debut in India on January 23.

According to Indian Express, a Mumbai based retailer called Mahesh Telecomm is selling the Vivo V5 Plus along with a VR box. The V5 Plus will be sold alongside an affordable version called the V5 Lite.

The Vivo V5 Plus features a 5.5-inch IPS display that is protected by Gorilla Glass 5. Gorilla Glass 5 ensures that this smartphone has a greater chance of surviving a 1.6-meter, shoulder-height drops up to 80% of the time. That is good if the user fumbles the phone while taking a selfie.

Vivo V5 is powered by an octa-core 2.0GHz Snapdragon 625 processor and an Adreno 506 graphics processing unit. This results in extremely efficient multi-tasking when compared to dual core processors. The Adreno 506 mobile graphics card supports Universal Bandwidth Compression (UBWC) with saves memory bandwidth.

When is comes to selfies, this handles very well with its 20-megapixel front camera and 16-megapixel rear camera. The included flash makes sure that photos get the right amount of exposure in low light conditions.
