Here are two Ultrabooks that offer great features for this classification of laptops. They are both highly portable, very thin and light, and boast excellent battery life. But let’s see how they compare.

Ultrabooks have garnered quite a following lately.  They are thin, lightweight and come packed with features that make them a viable choice for anyone looking for a computer that they can take with them wherever they go.

Let’s take a quick look at how the Dell XPS13 and MacBook Pro 13” stack up. I picked both models with close specs for a fair assessment, so both have the same amount of RAM, and SSD storage.

According to the SPECS Chart below, we see the following:

Processor: The MacBook Pro 13” has the faster processor of the two ultrabooks. The MacBook features Intel’s fifth-generation dual-core processor that houses the CPU, L3 cache, Intel Iris Graphics 6100, and fast 1866MHz memory controller on a single chip. These processors feature Turbo Boost technology that automatically boosts the processor clock speed based on workload, giving you extra processing power when you need it. And Hyper-Threading technology allows two threads to run simultaneously on each core.

Screen: The Dell XPS 13 has a stunning Quad HD+ display that outshines other 13-inch laptops. It features the world’s first infinity display which is almost borderless 13-inch screen inside an 11-inch laptop. When compared to the Apple MacBook Air 13, the XPS 13 is 23% smaller with the same screen size.

Size: At its thickest point, the Dell XPS measures 0.59 which makes it thinner than the MacBook Pro.

Weight: The Dell also has the MacBook Pro 13” beat in this category by weighing in at 2.9 pounds compared to the MacBook Pro’s 3.48 pounds.

Battery: The MacBook Pro wins in the area by providing 12 hours of battery life compared to the 11 hours listed for the Dell XPS.
