T-Mobile joins the unlimited minute club

Yesterday Verizon Wireless launched a line of cellular calling plans that included unlimited anytime minutes with flat rates starting at $99.99. AT&T's wireless division announced that it will also be providing similar plans with unlimited anytime minutes this coming Friday.

It seems that T-Mobile does not want to be excluded from the club as it joined the fray with T-Mobile branded unlimited calling plans will be available a day ahead of AT&T this coming Thursday.

The deal T-Mobile announced is similar to the base plans from Verizon and AT&T's new unlimited anytime minute offerings. However, T-Mobile's plan may shine just a little brighter due to the inclusion of unlimited text, picture, and instant messaging.

Details regarding a tiered system similar to Verizon's were not included in the announcement, but T-Mobile will most likely offer a few different plans to compete with both Verizon and AT&T.

With 3 of the top 4 wireless carriers going unlimited, Sprint is the "odd man out" for now. Sprint, however, has been testing unlimited anytime minute plans in some rural markets but there is no word yet on if the struggling company will go all in with the rest of the players on the table.

barkley finally added wade to his fav five

If that doesn't make you want to go out and sign a contract with T-Mobile then I don't know what does.

Poor Chuck won't leave Wade alone!

It's also a shame that T-Mobile ended its cycling sponsorships, after being such a strong supporter of the sport for so many years.

In all seriousness, I am interested to see if Sprint will be able to match the other three phone carriers with its own unlimited calling plan.

man, i am enjoying reading about sprint struggling.

I remember when i had them and i would go 1 day late on payment when money was tight and i prolly shouldnt have had a cell phone, they would just flat out turn off the cell.

Tmobile was/is so much more forgiving, so things might have change, but little things like that go a long way. Now when money isnt an issue anymore, I enjoy supporting tombile as a customer when they worked well with me through tough times. Let sprint die a slow painful death for all I care.

Yeah... I'm enjoying reading about the Sprint problems too. For years and years I defending them so all my friends and I loved them. Since the Nextel merger though things have went south. They are no longer the only ones in Best Buy, they no longer get the cool phones, they no longer offer great incentives to stay with them, they call me all the time to see if I want two lines of service (answer is still no Sprint), they reset my 18 month new for you program for who knows what reason, twice they tried to tell me my plan was no longer available after military deployments just to try and cancel service and have my plan magically reappear, and service that is shoddy compared to almost every other carrier. And oh yeah... today I tried calling "511" which is the traffic transportation number in Cali just to have the service not recognize it. My friend with ATT had to call.

I think those commercials from Alltell really made a difference. Alltell does not offer service in my city but they still show commercials in the area.

Also I wonder what Cricket has to say about this since they have been offering Unlimited calls and txt (mms included) the entire time.

I am a Tmobile customer and have the myfaves plan, 600 anytime minutes and 400txt (which includes 400 seperate multimedia msg) and spend $55/mo. I dont see this Unlimited plan by ATT/Verizon/Tmobile very appealing at a $99 price point. With myfaves I have a somewhat unlimited plan already.

I think this is just a PR stunt for these 3 to show they can actually have this type of deal. And poor little Sprint, they get left in the dust all the time with their poor service plans, horrible reception, and bad customer service.

If all your family and friends are on the same network to begin with, even a lowest option plan is pretty much unlimited as well since theres free in network calling. This is the way it is for me. Everyone I know pretty much is on Verizon.

I plan to get on a 450 minute plan here soon with Verizon and thats still 15 minutes a day of out of network calling. I rarely talk on the phone that much in one day.

I can see these plans being very beneficial for a business person such as a realtor or any sort of 'road warrior' who makes frequent phone calls of the go.
