Welcome to Michael's first blog entry!
When gamers think about possible upgrades, the usual PC hardware comes
to mind: video card, CPU, motherboard, etc. What most
people seem to overlook are the sometimes very important, yet rather
mundane items: keyboard, gaming mice, and mouse pads. Although I
am not hasty to recommend that all gamers go out and spend cold hard
cash on expensive and fancy gaming peripherals, I wanted to throw
some options on the table.
If you are looking for a slight advantage over the competition, please
let me give you some options that you should carefully consider.
For quality gaming mouse pads, there are several viable choices:
Steelpad - One of the most popular gaming mouse pad choices.
Ratpadz - Cheap, reliable plastic mouse pad.
Func - Another popular alternative that's won a lot of acclaim.
In my humble opinion, I only see two good gaming keyboard
manufacturers: Logitech and Saitek. Both companies have been
careful to listen to input from gamers, to ensure that the ultimate
device was designed.
Logitech G15 - Although rather pricey, it really is the ultimate gaming keyboard.
Saitek -
Currently offers two very good gaming keyboards. I like
the PC Gamers' Keyboard a little bit over the Eclipse.
The last item, which some consider the most important, is the
mouse. When people ask me which mouse companies they should
consider when purchasing a gaming mouse, I always give them two
answers: Logitech or Razer.
Logitech - Although I am not the biggest fan of the Logitech G5 gaming mouse, I can certainly appreciate it.
Razer - Even though I love the Logitech MX518 mouse, the Razer Copperhead is currently my favorite gaming mouse.
I hope that this blog entry has been useful to a few of you out there.
