Another UMPC model shows itself with pricing information and technical specifications that may or may not impress
With the Ultra Mobile PC platform about
ready to launch many companies are beginning to release pricing
information and technical specifications about their products. Recently
Samsung's
Q1 UMPC was found to be on preorder on a UK online retailer's
website for £799.99 which left many speechless. Whether those
lack of words was a good or bad thing all depends on what we, as
individuals, believe is an acceptable price for such products.
Now, a company called TabletKiosk has released pricing information on
its UMPC product, the EO v7110. The EO v7110 can be customized from the
bare minimum with 256MB of DDR2 memory and 30GB of hard drive space to a 1GB of DDR2 memory and 100GB hard drive configuration but for a cost,
of course. Currently TabletKiosk.com has incomplete configuration
options and does not let us choose a larger battery or a cradle for the
device, but with the upgrades to 1GB of DDR2 and a 100GB hard drive the
price jumps $524 from the stock $899 pricetag to $1423. Adding
accessories will increase the total price further.
Here are some technical specs on the v7110. TabletKiosk.com
has more detailed information on these specs as well.

Compared to a laptop these specifications do not seem too attractive
since we can purchase a notebook with these features and more for under
$1000 these days. Will consumers pay the extra cash for a slower
machine with a smaller form-factor?
