Robots are becoming more and more main stream from running hotels to making deliveries, and now performing surgery.

There is a 3D-printed robot called Stormram 4 that is reported to perform a biopsy inside of an MRI scanner.

According to Francoise Siepel, a researcher who works on Stormram 4, said performing the procedure inside the MRC scanner instead of during an ultrasound or mammogram provides  "the highest precision compared to other imaging techniques used in the diagnostic phase of breast cancer patients,".

While robots can help make surgery less invasive, and safer, there is still the need for human intervention. We are still a long way off from robots doing the complete surgeries.  At this time robots are used in a purely assistive capacity.

Either way, I for one am very happy with the progress in medical science.
