Jobs and Schmidt spotted together in Palo Alto

If these pictures obtained by Gizmodo are any indication, it appears that the icy relationship between Eric Schmidt and Steve Jobs that the New York Times reported on a few weeks ago is thawing. The two were spotted chatting away in Palo Alto today outside a cafe According to the Gizmodo tipster, two lines uttered by Jobs during the encounter were, "They're going to see it all eventually so who cares how they get it” and "Let's go discuss this somewhere more private" – presumably after the mob started closing in with cameras in hand.

There also appears to be an iPad laying on the table while the two were talking, so Jobs can't be too terribly upset with Schmidt. Or perhaps Schmidt is just begging for his life before Jobs does the flashy thing on him.

Why does Schmidt look uncomfortable?

A) Steve is... lonely
B) Schmidt lost a prototype
C) Schmidt was going to order a latte, but Jobs threatened to sue claiming "prior art"

D) He can't take his eyes off Steve's pants that are far too small, and socks that are pulled up to his knees.. (which as a result of the small image makes it look like hes wearing a black spandex suit with jeans overtop.)

Well, this proves it, Steve Jobs has absolutely nothing to do the with anesthetics of any Apple product..

Mr Schmidt is dressed and looks like Bill Gates in that photo, yet he still looks cooler.

An out of court settlement

Ofcourse they were discussing Andriod & Google Nexus One smartphone (Apple's patent infringement suit against HTC).

The two could be discussing an out of court settlement,namely the technical side of it.

After thats figured out they leave the rest to the C.F.Os & the legal advisors to close the deal.

Remember Eric Schmidt is not only Google's CEO he is also an Apple (substantial) shareholder.

So with that in mind,both obviously prefer (the sensible/practical approach) to talk it out(informal at a coffee shop) rather than fight it out in courts.

Oh, they are just discussing how long they wanted to "drag" this suit so that it will generate the publicity for free while WinMo 7 is still struggling to catch up.

One can clearly see that the suit will be SETTLED a couple of weeks before the WinMo7 devices hit the market. Not that, this is going to hurt Nexus or iPhone 4 but it will clearly put both those platforms are the more desirable ones in the market (price points and all). Very sneaky but perfectly legal, I suppose.

In fact, HTC might just get the credit for being able to stand up to Apple while Apple already made their mark by initiating the suit in the first place. They got plenty of lawyers stilling around not doing much anywhere....
