Noooooooooooooo!

Much to the dismay of gamers around the world, Electronic Arts recently announced that Spore will be delayed until next year. EA cited quality control concerns as one of the leading factors in the delay of the game. I wrote a blog in February that highlighted my interest in the game.

“We're focusing on quality to make sure we build a franchises that feels more like The Sims, a franchise we hope...to see around for some time in the future,” said John Riccitiello, EA CEO.

While EA never publicly announced an official release date for the video game, many believed the game was supposed to be available for the Christmas holiday season 2007.

EA appears to be in a world of hurt these days. The company posted a larger quarterly loss than expected by analysts, and Spore was supposed to be a huge revenue generator for the company. The company had a large portion of its fiscal 2008 – which will end March 31, 2008 -- profits vested in Spore.

Officially announced in 2005, the game created an enormous amount of hype and excitement among gamers. Will Wright's latest creation allows players to create and play creatures from their very beginning – all the way to the creature's conquest of space.

Reliance

I am pushing with uncertainty the confidence that they will implement online, cumulative, coordinated, and cooperative interaction between players as they develop and elongate their racial organisms. The extension only comes as a beacon for furtherance, as I feel what was exhibitioned could surely be capitalized upon through many more extensive, elaborated facets. Spore would've been tight arriving at this ship date, but hopefully they will make the moves to fully push this game to the brim of its potential. Intuitive complexity and attachment, aided in no small part by socialization, always help to ensure an enriching, dynamic title. This game will certainly be very lucrative if there are varying modes from which one could make choice.

Was this post run through a translator or something?
It seems very robotic and archaic.

(Ummm, no offense intended).

Seems like it, but it's still understandable even if it takes a little more effort. I actually find it good that people who aren't native English speakers can still participate actively in these discussions.

A thesaurus is a terrible thing to wast.

Actually, I prefer read well thought out responses, even if the translations are lagubrious and laborious.

Uhm, lol. My post isn't lugubrious and I am indigenous to the good ol' USA, as is my fluency. If you think translators produce results of such efficiency, you'd very likely be mistaken. Such basic word choice was also made absent from thesaurus adaptations.

Well, I do agree that your writing style comes across as pendantic. Simpler choice of words would get your point across clearer and your post could still be taken seriously.

Anyway the E3 demonstration of Spore looked like it has some amazing elements, especially the on-the-fly walking animation generator for your creature. But I wondered how challenging the game would be and how long it would be fun to play.

One thing is for certain...

LAMO

That is very Tru how long have they been working on DukeNukem forever (WHENEVER) 1999 or something like that.

It is a shame about Spore. If Will Wright was smart he would ditch EA and go on his own.

rather than say pull an EA / Atari and ship a beta version with the intent to patch it later.

agreed.
Waiting for a finished and polished product is preferable to getting a buggy, laggy pile of crap.

If it was anyone else

If it wasn't Will Wright, I'd be calling it vaporware at this point. I still have faith though and I can wait till its done (barely).

I hope like the rest of you

The potential for greatness of this game is huge.

I hope Will and his team are able to pull it together.

My feelings couldn't be expressed better than the headlines says ...
