According to Engadget Sony has added another HTPC to their VAIO X line up the VGX-XL71S.
The new VAIO X features a 2.8GHz Pentium D 920, NVIDIA GeForce 6200, up to 2GB
of RAM, up to 1.5TB of storage and a dual layer DVD+RW. However, by far the most
notable feature of the VGX-XL71S is its support for DTCP-IP.
DTCP-IP or Digital Transmission Content Protection over
Internet Protocol is a specification that allows digital content to be securely
transmitted over a network to multiple devices while still maintaining content
providers distribution wishes. DTCP-IP also prohibits DTCP encrypted content to
be shared outside of the local area network.
The VAIO VGX-XL71S also features all the standard audio and
video IO ports as well as HDMI an ISDB-T compatible digital tuner and two
terrestrial antennas. The VGX-XL71S is available in Japan for a little under $1,900.
