Series 7 machines are made for portability and performance

Samsung has launched a new line of laptops at IFA 2011 today called the Series 7 laptop line. There are several machines in the Series 7 family all feature an aluminum chassis, but they have different screen sizes and options.

The models in the Series 7 family include the 15.6-inch NP700Z5A-S02US that packs in a Core i7-2675QM processor, 6GB of RAM, 750GB HDD, 1.3MP webcam, and a battery good for up to nine hours. It has AMD Radeon HD 6750M graphics and the screen resolution is 1600x900. The machine also has Wi-Fi and more starting at $1,149. 

Samsung also has the NP700Z5A-S01US with the same processor as the other machine with 8GB of RAM, 570GB of storage, 15.6-inch screen at 1600x900, HD 6750M graphics and more. The main difference other than RAM between the two machines is the S01US has Windows 7 Pro and the S02US is Windows 7 Home Premium and the price at $1,299 for the SO1US.

The next of the new notebooks is the NP700Z3A-S01US with an Intel Core i5-2430M processor. It has Windows 7 Home Premium, 6GB of RAM, 750GB of storage, a 14-inch screen at 1600x900, AMD Radeon HD 6490M graphics, and Wi-Fi. The machine sells for $1,099.

The final new notebook is the NP700Z5B-W01UB. It has a Core i7-2675QM processor, 6GB of RAM, 750GB of storage, a 15.6-inch 1600x900 resolution screen, and a 1.3MP webcam. The graphics are via the AMD Xeymour HD 6490M GPU. This machine sells for $999.99. 

“The Series 7 is an ideal laptop for discerning users who need to be highly productive everywhere they go, with advanced features such as Samsung’s exclusive Fast Start technology, a high-speed processor and a large, matte screen that is visible anywhere, even outside,” said Scott Ledterman, director of mobile PC marketing at Samsung Enterprise Business Division. “Our goal is to create notebooks that constantly inspire and enrich customers’ lives and with the Series 7, one of the thinnest quad core PCs to date, cutting edge consumers and business users can capitalize on Samsung’s advanced engineering, inside and out.” 

All of the notebooks will land on October 2 through Samsung resellers.
