I never really understood the hype around "Fatal1ty", besides the products using his name I haven't heard or read anything about him in the last 3 years.

Yes, he seems to have dropped off the radar and it's unlikely he will get back on it given how long he has been MIA.

Yep, I bet he's crying all the way to the bank each time he makes a deposit. It's a shame he realized that he can't keep up gaming against the ever present younger generation forever and is now enjoying his life and wealth.

Well, even if he isn't the absolute best in the world anymore, he's still better than 99.99whatever percent of all gamers out there.

I saw a vid of him maybe one or two years ago or something where he took on 3-4 gaming website journos all against him in Quake3, and he beat them like 123-5 or something totally ludicrous like that. He was running around fragging them left and right and giggling to himself like a naughty schoolboy. It was crazy to see.

Dissing the guy because all we see of him is his handle on computer components and accessories is pretty weaksauce. Nobody here could beat him anyhow unless he was only allowed to use one hand to play, and at least in my case he might still whoop up on me. ;)

The hype around him was that he was the first guy to make a real professional living out of gaming (One should note though... all the games he played didnt have recoil on the guns... so he played like quake3 and painkiller and not counter strike). He didnt go to college and stayed at home living with his dad after high school and played video games for 8-12 hours a day. Then when he won a tournament for 250,000 he bought his dad's house and went to devry or something and started working on getting a degree in like game design or something.

Then with all his retarded endorsements slapping his logo feces on half the crap in the gaming market he made even more money. Now you dont hear about him because hes raking in millions because retards see his name on something and go buy it because "oh look a pro gamer has his name on this it must be good!"

As an example when he first signed with creative and slapped his name on a sound card the thing cost 50 bucks more. And people bought it. Then there's his headsets and keyboards and so on. Now they have this stupid ass power supply coming out that will cost more than the same version without his name on it and retards will buy it because it'll be "gamer quality".

Instead of anonymously bagging on someone who's ~50x more successful than you'll ever be, how about you go do something useful with your life instead of being a b**** on an interwebs discussion board?

Just a suggestion mind you, you can always choose to just carry on the way you are.

It's because FPS have failed to gain any real traction as an esport. Right now it is all about Starcraft 2, that has huge viewer numbers, star players who are more interesting than Fatality ever was, and is actually fun to spectate.

Riot is throwing a ton of money at League Of Legends tournaments and Valve is doing the same with DOTA 2. In any case, the RTS and MOBA genres are where competitive gaming is actually thriving.

Finally! Something that lives up to its name.
