Amazon appears to be clearing out the Lumia 520 to make room for the new Lumia 530

The Lumia 530 may be the “new hotness” when it comes to Microsoft’s budget smartphone offerings, but the best-selling Lumia 520 is still hanging around in the mean time.

We’ve just gotten word courtesy of WP Central that the AT&T version of the Lumia 520 is now available at Amazon for $39.99 off-contract. You can use the smartphone with you existing AT&T service or with a prepaid SIM via GoPhone.

The Lumia 520 comes with a 1GHz dual-core processor, 512MB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, a microSD slot for expansion, an 800x480 display, a 5MP rear camera (without flash) and a 1430 mAh battery.

The Lumia 520 definitely isn’t going to win any beauty pageants or lavish you with a ton of features, but it does provide smartphone functionality and support for Windows Phone 8.1. And it’s also hard to complain about a brand new off-contract smartphone that comes in at under $40.
