BBM Music customers won't be charged after April

BlackBerry is still facing an uphill battle in the smartphone market even though it has had some modest success with BlackBerry 10 operating system and the new Q10 smartphone. However, if you're a BlackBerry user who loves the BBM Music service, the Canadian company has announced that the music service will be discontinued.

BlackBerry began notifying subscribers this week by email that it will take the service offline on June 2, 2013 -- paying subscribers will not be billed after the month of April.

Rdio app for older BlackBerry devices

As a music alternative, BlackBerry is pushing subscribers to Rdio as an alternative.

The email notes that Rdio is offering a 30-day free trial of the premium offering. Interestingly, there is apparently no official Rdio app for BlackBerry 10 devices.

I found this article highly informative and important. It's good to know BB Music will no longer be. Twenty six active users should take note.

i'm glad for it too that app was stupid. I tried it for a day and got rid of it when I was still on my 9810.
