How many developers will support this for their games?
I can't imagine them taking the time to design images for each of the keys.

I wouldn't expect much support from the developpers... Look at the numbers : 200 units at $1536? That's definatly not enough to justify any form of support.

Better odds from getting images, etc. from other players.

Look at the G15, very few developpers bothered to make a widget for the LCD screen, but the players took care of that.

There will probably a "default" gaming skin that will replace wasd with arrows or something like that.

Hopefully some other keyboard makers will do something like this at a lower price point. Also, high sales could push the numbers made up and the price down. Either might help to get support for this type of keyboard.

Of course patents may be in the way of this...

It's just a little nitpick but the displays were upgraded to 48x48 when they switched OLED suppliers. So, you're getting a little more display than that.

Even still, as much as I want it, I don't think I'll ever have $1,536 in a reasonable timeframe :(.

No Offense, but...

Judging from past delays, you probably won't see the keyboard until 2008 if you pre-order it now. This thing has already been postponed about 18 months already!
