Microsoft teases gamers with new viral marketing web site
What does Microsoft have up its sleeve? The company recently published a new viral marketing campaign -- users can get there by clicking here.
Once already on the Microsoft "Site of Champions," enter "82207" into the little padlock, which should get you to the actual web site. Once there, feel free to roam around the site, but don't honestly expect anything more than a couple of teasers.
I'd recommend clicking on the leg lamp in the right hand corner of the screen - the lights should turn off, a laser will appear and highlight the outlines of a Halo Warthog, Master Chief, and a Shadowrun character.
If you do not understand the significance of the "82207" padlock code, we can only guess that there will be some type of announcement on August 22, 2007. Microsoft is known for announcing a new Xbox Live Arcade game on Wednesdays, and August 22 just happens to be a Wednesday.
Considering whatever Microsoft is advertising is shrouded in secrecy -- using a very interesting web site -- DailyTech expects you guys to come up with some ideas as to what Microsoft is up to.
"If they're going to pirate somebody, we want it to be us rather than somebody else." -- Microsoft Business Group President Jeff Raikes
