Microsoft makes Xbox 360 cuts official

Microsoft's Xbox 360 has been on the market in North America since November of 2005. Since that time, Microsoft has introduced new models and cut prices on select models.

The most recent price cut was applied to the 20GB Xbox 360 when it dropped from $349 to $299 to make room for the new 60GB model.

Today, Microsoft made its across-the-board price cuts official. The 120GB Xbox 360 Elite dropped in price from $449 down to $399. The recently introduced 60GB Xbox 360 Pro also took a $50 nose dive to $299. Finally, the Xbox 360 Core is now priced at a reasonable $199. The previous 20GB Xbox 360 Pro is now discontinued.

"We are thrilled to be the first next-generation console on the market to reach $199, a price that invites everyone to enjoy Xbox 360,” said Microsoft Interactive Entertainment Business Senior VP Don Mattrick. "Xbox 360 delivers amazing performance at an extraordinary value with the leading online service and best lineup of games, downloadable movies and TV shows available from a console. The majority of consumers make the decision to buy consoles once the price falls to this mark, making this an important milestone for consumers and the industry."

Those most likely to be shaking their heads -- or fists -- at this latest announcement are those that recently thought they were getting a slick deal when the 60GB Xbox 360 Pro was introduced at $349. Newcomers to the Xbox 360 fold are likely to appreciate this move, but current Xbox 60GB Pro owners may wish to go on an iPhone-esque rampage.

According to Microsoft's press release, the new pricing goes into effect September 5.

Paris, you must find a way out of this place or you'll surely die. Make your way to the small intestine, there you will meet the Sparrow who will guide you to Catatafish. Now go Paris Hilton, make haste!

Her head is too big for her body, and her face looks like some kind of rodent.. I have never found her attractive, especially with a nose that probably waves like a flag in the wind..

For me its because she's so damn thin. I find a girl who's a size 4-10 (depending on height) far more attractive than a girl who's a 0. I want some meat. I want a round butt. I don't wanna think I'm gonna break them.

Speaking of, has anyone seen her on Letterman? Seems like a nice guy, and even he couldn't help but harass her in front of his audience, who fkn loved it btw

Disclaimer: I did not watch the show on TV, wouldn't be interested. But I came across it on youtube. "Paris Hilton gets humiliated by David Letterman"

Are these with 65nm GPUs or not yet?

I thought they'd lower prices because of 65nm GPU introduction, now I'm not so sure. Looks like they can lower prices independently of introduction of die shrink. Interesting.
