The 30" Dell 3007FPW is currently selling on for $2,298 USD, but Canadians can purchase the monitor for $1,400 USD

Canadians rejoice!  The 30" Dell 3007FPW is on sale for a little under $1,400 USD, but the deal expires later today.  Click here to be taken to the deal from  There is also an ongoing thread in the AnandTech forums about the smoking hot Dell 3007FPW deal.  Click here to be taken to the AnandTech forums.

Update: The one day sale ended.  The deal will rotate with other products now.  Thank you all my friends in Canada who are now shipping me some new LCDs.

I wish I knew someone in Canada. I'd buy a couple of these brand new and sell them on E-bay and make a couple hundred for each one. I think the price would have to drop below $1,000 before I'd ever consider purchasing one for my own use and not reselling it for a higher price. Having a 30" LCD screen for a computer is ridiculous, why not just buy two 2405FPW's for cheaper. 48" of screen instead of 30".

I got two 2405FPWs for $700 each -- great for programming. The monster resolution of one huge display would go an insanely long way in a bunch of games though;and Photoshop

You lucky bastard, how can you afford 2 2405FPW for just being a editor at Anandtech? haha...

Well I was the *display* editor at AT. I don't get fun things like fast processors.

Hmm, I see you wrote the article on the Radeon X1900XT GPU. So apparently you get some fun things.

Pity he wasn't able to get in on the very brief Refurb screw-up where a select few got them for $428+ shipping and tax. :( I bought 6, and got em all. heh

2x24" does not make the equivelant of a 48".

LOL - Sitting here at my 2405 and thinking what it would look like with four of thesestacked to the left and right...thus making 48"...that would be sick!!

Found this "Hot Deal" link at about 9PM ... and ... what can I say ... the devil made me do it ... at 11PM threw caution to the wind and ordered it - after considerable angst and scheming how to keep all of this from ... errr ... my wife.

Now ... I know it requires a 'good' double DVI-D video card - so that means I'll have to upgrade that ... and ... those cards require PCI Express - which I also don't have - therefore, new motherboard.

Oh, where does all this agony end?

I wonder what'll happen if I just plug in a 'normal' DVI-D from my existing video card ... will it work at all?

BTW, I live in Ontario and have been rather envious at all the great deals that our southern neighbours get on a very regular basis whilst we get hand-me-downs and electronic items that are usually way past state-of-the-art - and then on highly-inflated prices.

Oh ... there was 7% + 8% taxes too ... but ... hey! Free Shipping - that's what sealed the deal!

Have a good one - the 'special' page today contains a paper shedder and a few so-so printers. One has to be constantly vigilant in this life.

Actually you'll need a DVI-I card (a Dual-Link DVI connection) -- different from one simply having two DVI connectors.

so close!

Pricing error?
By JarredWalton on 1/19/2006 5:39:04 PM , Rating: 1
I have to wonder if this is just a pricing error, and Dell will void all the orders with some weak apology. I've seen things like that plenty. "Too good to be true" usually is.
