Lenovo's 14" and 15.4" 3000 N100 notebooks gets Core 2 Duo

Lenovo is doing the Core 2 Duo dance with a refresh to its 3000 N100 notebook range. Intel officially announced Core 2 Duo processors for notebooks back in late August and update notebooks have been slowly trickling in. Lenovo's 3000 N100 will be now available with the full range of Celeron-M and Core 2 Duo processors.

The 3000 N100 series notebooks can be equipped with either a 14” or 15.4” display and will also now include the option of 802.11n wireless connectivity. The 15.4” models can be equipped with an NVIDIA GeForce Go 7300 processor featuring either 64MB or 128MB of RAM. The notebooks also feature Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, three USB 2.0 ports and an integrated fingerprint scanner.

Pricing for the 14” Lenovo 3000 N100 starts at $829 while the 15.4” model starts at $899 with Core 2 Duo processors. There’s also a $100 mail-in rebate currently available for the 3000 N100 series for additional savings.

T6x Core 2 Duo

I have been patiently waiting for a Core 2 Duo T6x, not this... Plus, look at the size of the space bar on that thing. I do not have big hands or anything, but that looks silly. I suppose I shouldn't knock it until I have tried it, though.

Yeah, that's crazy. What are those two keys on the end of the space bar? I can't make it out, but there are several more keys on that row than a typical notebook has.

misleading

if you go to the website the only ones that are that cheap are the ones that dont have the core 2 duo. i find it odd that the focus of this news is that this laptop has core 2 duo support but then the prices that it mentions are for the laptop with just a core duo.

This article sounds too much like an ad, I don't think this should count as news worthy.

Its very essential in any laptop review/news of any brand,
(I mean the new products )should have information about their batteries.
One cannot live with a constant worry/fear that it can/may
explode.
There has to be some reference about this in all reviews,like-
*Have the batteries been tested to prevent accidents.
*Who manufactures those batteries.
*Is there a auto shut off mechanism to prevent over heating.
* Any other relevant information.
There is no such thing as only DELL/APPLE laptop explode,
other brands can also do so.
So lets hear more on this.
