Much of the talk in mobile phone arena centered on the
massively popular Apple iPhone during the past year; however, there are other
large cellular makers like Nokia, LG, Samsung and more that are vying for the
cash in the wallets of shoppers.
LG unveiled the KF510 Touch slider phone in Barcelona at the
Mobile World Congress for the first time. The phone is very thin at only 10.9mm
in thickness but it still packs in a lot of features into the svelte design.
The KF510 has a 3 megapixel camera and utilizes a touch
sensitive navigational pad. The frame of the handset is made from metal rather
than cheap plastic and the paint is a gradation style in either red or black.
Detailed specifications are not available at this time,
but GSMArena reports
that the KF510 should be available in the United States for around $330 as
early as March of 2008. LG dubbed the KF510 the “Touch Lighting Phone” due to
its Interactive Touch Lighting technology used on the display and navigation
keypad.
LG attempted to take some of Apple’s iPhone thunder with a
touch screen mobile phone called the LG Voyager exclusive to Verizon Wireless in October of
2007. LG competitor Kyocera bought Sanyo’s mobile phone operations in late
January to bolster its place in the pecking order for top handset maker.
