The Indian space program is ready to make another step towards becoming a global powerhouse

The Indian space program is ready for the nation's first commercial launch of a foreign satellite.  A home-built Indian rocket will carry an Italian satellite into orbit later this month, an Indian Space Research Organization spokesman reported last week.  It is unknown how much Italy is paying India for its assistance in launching the rocket into orbit.  The ISRO's Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle, or PSLV, is able to safely carry payloads of up to 1,000 kilograms.

Ground crews are currently making preparations for the launch from the Sriharikota space station, located in southern India.  The ISRO expects to launch the PSLV on Monday, April 23.

A trip into space appears to be the ideal exotic vacation for people who can afford the ~$25 million trip.  The current world's richest man Bill Gates is the latest wealthy person considering heading into space, according to a Russian cosmonaut.  Fyodor Yurchikhin, who spoke during a live interview from the ISS several days ago, mentioned that "Charles said Bill Gates is also preparing to visit space."

Space Adventures, a U.S.-based company which organizes space tourism trips, reported that it has not heard from Gates.

As if Lisa Nowak traveling half way across the country with a BB gun, knife, and drilling hammer wasn't weird enough, unsealed police documents show exactly what else she had in the car with her.  Police authorities also reportedly recovered a floppy disk and several USB keys that contained bondage photos.  Nowak also reportedly fell upon a string of e-mails that showed a relationship between two other astronauts, with Nowak believing that the female astronaut unfairly interfered in a relationship she had with astronaut Bill Oefelein.

Police now claim the items discovered in Nowak's car show her intent to seriously maim a fellow astronaut.

If astronauts using floppy disks, for porn no less, isn't proof enough that NASA hasn't left the 80s yet I don't know what is. :P

Personally, I've been using Seagate Pornodrives to store my goods for years now.

Indeed, got to keep up with the times. Pornodrives from seagate arent quite big enough though. I would go with the PornoDisk Fatal1ty edition. Carrys 2 750 GB HDs.

I hear rumors that Nowak's sparked the idea of the PornoDisk A5phyX1ation edition. Comes integrated in a noose.

So Fatal1ty endorses pornodrives too? For some reason this makes me lawl.

Space appears to be ever slowly heading towards being developped now that tourism and corperations are taking an interest. Makes me feel like I'm living in a retro 1500's. To the new world! I mean.. Mars!

Truly seriously though, when did Colleen Shipman become an astronaut?

On the released documents there were "orange pills" listed but other pills mostly blacked out. I wonder if these others were Dexedrine — dextroamphetamine — that is routinely available to astronauts and military pilots, and if this drug might explain illuminate some of her behavior??? (Amphetamine can improve mood, planning, and alertness, but at abruptly higher doses paranoia and violence; give life to jealousy.) Just a thought.
