Those anticipating picking up cheap Intel Xeon processors this July will have to wait just a tad bit longer
According to Intel guidance, the company pushed back price cuts of its Xeon product lineups by one week. Originally scheduled for July 22nd, existing Intel Xeon 5300-sequence processors will not receive price cuts until July 29th.
Intel pulled the next generation Intel Xeonlaunch in from 2008 into the last quarter of 2007. The company traditionally cuts pricing of its previous generation before its next architecture, though with the Penryn launch roped in the window for cheap 65nm Core-based Xeons is rapidly shrinking.

Intel also delayed the introduction of new Xeon X5365 and L5335 processors until August. The debut price of the Xeon X5365 is $1,172, per unit in 1,000 unit quantities. The low-power Xeon L5335 will carry a lower $380, per unit in 1,000 unit quantities, introductory price.

Despite Intel Xeon price cuts being pushed back, desktop Core 2 Duo, Core 2 Extreme and Core 2 Quad price cuts will continue on as planned on July 22nd.
Intel gave no reason for the delay, though the July 22nd price cuts preempted the original AMD Barcelona launch. All sources indicate AMD will not hit a July launch frame for its K10 processor, even though the company just demonstrated working silicon last week in Taiwan. AMD motherboard manufacturers claim Barcelona chipsets and motherboards will be ready for fall 2007.
