Today was a good day, the Intel launch event was quite entertaining

I went to the Intel Core 2 Duo launch today. It was a very good event, well organized in a marquee tent outside of the Intel campus. There were a number of people I knew and many I didn't, and there was much ado about the new processors. I met with My Intel rep, as usual, did a bang up job making sure we were taken care of. He introduced me to pretty much everyone and made the event very comfortable.

I was surprised to see Craig Barrett there - and in his usual conservative style he was sitting amongst the who's who of the engineering team during the keynote. I had a little discussion with Mr. Barrett as he looked over our Omen machine and he said it reminded him of his white and blue Ford GT. Pretty cool stuff.

Yesterday I wrote a fairly long detailed entry regarding the ramifications of the ATI + AMD deal. The entire blog entry was overshadowed by the following statement...

I hate to state the patently obvious, but aren't you guys missing a certain little feature news item today??? I don't mean an "oh by the way Merom-blah-blah-blah" story -- but didn't something happen today, that deserved a singular feature news story?????

did Intel have any gaming Machine at Core 2 launch ?
like did they take out crossfire X1900XTX out of the event :?
Did Nvidia have a showing :?
