Through apps and wearables, and using smartphones to help us to track from fitness to health, including sleep pattern or water intake, now as scanner. Sudden mobile devices appeared in the market that does scanning.

I am sure that it won’t take long that the same device could scan and analyze the food we consume, or the soil or even scan and analyze the human tissue sample by a doctor or nurse as it is done in a lab.  This is how and what it is.

SI- Ware System has developed a small, near infrared spectral sensor that can analyze materials in real-time without sending samples to a lab.  This sensor is small enough to fit into a smartphone so that you can scan anything with a mobile device.

Reported by the Company that it has applications for both the consumer and industrial markets. Also added “ the sensor could be used in food safety and analysis, evaluating the health of soil, oil and gas composition as well as determine the purity of pharmaceutical drugs.”  At the present time the device is being tested in the agriculture, petrochemical and healthcare markets. Because of its size being very small and low cost enough to use in consumer electronic products.

On December of 2016 a team of researchers from Stockholm and Uppsala University in Sweden and UCLA in California, turned a smartphone into a microscope.  In a paper published in Nature Communications,” the team created a mobile phone based bimolecular analysis and diagnostics prototype that could analyze the mutations in a cell’s DNA. This opens up new opportunities for digital molecular analysis.
