Google's Play Store app gets some Material Design lovin'
During Google I/O last month, we were introduced to
. Material Design is the new design aesthetic for the upcoming Android L mobile operating system and makes greater use of bold colors, sliding “cards” and transitions, and larger “Roboto” typography.
To get an idea of what to expect with Material Design, take a look at this brief overview from Google:
is now reporting that the Play Store will get a similar Material Design makeover and that the refresh will likely launch with Android L – and it has the screenshots to prove it. The images below are obviously from a pre-release version of the Play Store and may not be indicative of exactly will be presented in its final form. That's a lot of background.

It's simpler and cleaner, but that's a lot of background for a phone app. They've barely got half a paragraph of actual content in the new version of the Ready Player One screenshot.
That's an excellent book

Slightly off-topic but relating to the book for sale in the image above...Ready Player One is my favorite new book to come out in a long, long time. Anyone who has any connection at all to gaming/tech culture would find it entertaining, but if that connection extends into the 80's, then I would go so far as to call this a must-read. Enjoyed the hell out of that one, and hope he writes more in the same world.
