All computers need some sort of power supply to convert that alternating current (AC) to direct current (DC). Before purchasing your next Gaming Power Supply Unit (PSU) you might want to look at these sweet juice boxes.

There are several aspects to consider when deciding on how big a power supply you should get for your computer. These factors include, computer case size, style of power supply and wattage requirements. Additionally, you should try to get a good assessment of much power your system draws from the wall and look for one that has a capacity point that meets your needs.

Here are three power supplies that are excellent for getting the job done. They all feature 80 Plus Gold certification for PSUs denoting their efficiency in energy use.
An 80plus rating means it is 80% efficient, Gold means 90% efficient at 50% load. In other words, at 50% load an 80plus certified PSU will waste 20% energy as heat whereas a gold only wastes 10%.
