TomTom offers new Star Wars voice skins
TomTom
owners can rejuvenate the inner geek by using custom Darth Vader and
other Star Wars voices with their TomTom GPS units.
"Lord
Vader commands
you to turn to the Dark Side. Will you be able to resist as
he guides you to your destination?" the TomTom site asks.
"Obi-Wan has taught you well but now it is time to choose your
path. Light sabers at the ready!"
The TomTom Web site
includes three Darth Vader voice samples, with interested customers
able to purchase the voice for $12.95. TomTom plans to release
C-3P0, Yoda (in July) and Han Solo (in August) voice commands for its
GPS units.
The GPS maker also has free downloadable
content, a video clip of Darth Vader in the recording studio, and a
TomTom Star Wars video game.
As Garmin and TomTom continue to
deal with increased
pressure, the ability to use custom voices is an added benefit.
Hip hop star Snoop Dogg has a custom voice pack available for TomTom
GPS players while other “celebrities” like Mr. T, Eric Cartman,
and Homer Simpson are also available for TomTom devices.
"Young lady, in this house we obey the laws of thermodynamics!" -- Homer Simpson
