2K Games sends word that Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion has gone gold
and will ship on March 20, 2006. The highly-anticipated game has been
in development for the past four years, but is now ready to be
released. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion will be available for PC and
the Microsoft Xbox 360 game console.
"Oblivion will set the new standard for next generation gaming and
change the way role-playing games are viewed forever," said Vlatko
Andonov, President of Bethesda Softworks. "We set very high goals and
ensure they are reached because that is what our fans deserve and have
come to expect from Bethesda Softworks. We are very proud of our team's
accomplishments with respect to Oblivion."
Just as expected, the game will be single-player only and will allow
gamers to play at their own pace, which many find enjoyable.
Players will wander around Cyrodiil, the capital province of Tamirel,
as well as certain parts of Oblivion. I personally lost about a month of my life when TES III came out, so hopefully the week of March 20th is a slow news week. Preorders are available from the usual suspects.
