DirecTV, one of a few different satellite TV services to choose from today, is planning to offer a new package that includes everything. Everything.
DirecTV promises to bring the
Titanium Package to a living room near you soon which, according to the ad, includes "Every channel, Every movie, Every PAY PER VIEW, Every sporting even, Every adult program, Every HDTV channel, Up to 10 HD DVR receivers, and Concierge service 24/7".
What does that mean? If that quote was not clear enough, it basically means those who subscribe to this package will pay about $7500 a year for every single channel available through DirecTV's satellite TV service, including those we would have to normally order through the box, for you to surf through.
Paying $7500 a year for channels you would rarely ever watch, if at all, is a bit pricey for a single person or family household but we're thinking this package would be great for multi-unit apartments and condos. But we're also sure DirecTV would never offer all the channels they have, including the PAY PER VIEW and adult programs, for $62.50 a month ($7500 / year, 12 months / year, 10 DVRs) to individual customers. The package is not yet available but DirecTV has a form you can fill out to receive an update when the service goes live June 28th. Fine print on the page also reads "Membership is reserved for a select few".
Note: The Terms of Service states that each account is designated to single dwelling units only so it looks like sharing this package between 10 different subscribers in an apartment building is out of the question as it has been since the conception of DirecTV and all other cable/satellite TV services.
