Brand new Samsung tablet gets a whopper of a promotion from Sears

The 10.5” Galaxy Tab S was just announced last night, but Sears is already running a special promotion which will get you $105 in cashback via Shop Your Way dollars and a free case.
While Sears has both the 8.4” and 10.5” Galaxy Tab S models for pre-order, only the 10.5” qualifies for the promotion. You can pre-order either a Dazzling White or Titanium Bronze 10.5” Galaxy Tab S for $499.99, then you’ll receive $105 back in Shop Your Way dollars that can be used for a future purchase.

In addition, at the top of the product page, you’ll see a Special Offer to add a free case with your order as well (MSRP $69.99). For easy access, here are the four cases available:
Samsung 10.5" Galaxy Tab S Book Cover, Brown
Samsung 10.5" Galaxy Tab S Book Cover, White
Samsung 10.5" Galaxy Tab S Book Cover, Red
Samsung 10.5" Galaxy Tab S Book Cover, Black

You’ll have to pay shipping ($6.99) and tax of course, but this is probably the lowest price you’ll be able to get for this brand new tablet, not to mention the free case. Sears shows that the tablet will be released on July 10.

Almost worth it

It looks like a decent tablet, Samsungs most recent rounds have all been pretty nice, but still for $499 , the 16gb tablet is overpriced. If the 8.4 inch model was also $100 off it would be good as well.

I just don't have a reason to buy a tablet or I'd probably pick this. I buy enough stuff at Sears that I could make use of that $105.

Totally agree with you there.

As much as tablets look nice. I just don't have a use case. I'm never on the couch and thinking, omg i need to check that page or look at that status. Not being on any social network frees up my time so much.

I'll be saving the money thanks!

Well, it sounds worth it to me. My wife has a Nexus 7, but it's too small and slow for me. I already have the Note 3 and use it all the time on the couch. I hate giving to into my office just to check something out. I'll admit that i didn't think I'd want a tablet. However, time has a way of changing things. I'd never thought I'd get a smart phone or text anyone. But here i am in the modern day. I've got four PCs I've built around my home. I think a tablet would be perfect for when I'm on the couch and just want to check small things while I'm watching something else. When i go on the road it would be great to load up with video. I just don't need a laptop for that.

I shop frequently at Sears and this is a good deal on a tablet that i was thinking of getting anyways.

I actually sold my Nexus 7 a few months ago because I stopped using it after I got the LG G2.

How much did you get for the Nexus 7? It's a well built tablet, but it's my wife's so she's got it like she likes it. I'm using the Note 3 right now while watching the Stanley Cup. I don't do social media. I do like keeping connected to check on sports scores, box scores, tv guide, multiple online forums and also to check on info to anything I am doing (movies/tv/music/news/etc). The Note 3 has a 5.7" screen, but many times I wish for more screen real estate when I'm not on the road.

I sold it to a friend for $50 but they're worth about $100-$160.

I'm actually shocked to see Sears offering anything at MSRP. Seems whenever I do a search, for pretty much ANYTHING, in order to find the lowest price online, the Sears results have been the biggest joke of all, with prices up to 2X higher than anywhere else.

Sears does have sales, just like any other B&M store, and they price match to other B&M stores. Sears is not run the best, that is for sure. However, they are not the worst as you point out. It's hard for a lot of companies to adapt to the shift to Amazon-like shopping.

False/Incorrect information to get clicks?

So which is it? "$105 off", "$105 in cash back", or "$105 back in Shop Your Way dollars"? Progressively gets worse as the article goes on.

So you can get cash back instead?

No. Only can be used toward future purchases. Consider them to be like Amazon gift cards, where they have value, but can only be used at that retailer.

Unfortunately, unlike an Amazon gift card, ShopYourWay rewards have a definite expiration date. If you don't use them within the specified period of time, they're lost forever.

Of course most points you earn off of purchases last a year.
