Creative Zii Egg Plaszma (Source: Engadget)
It's like an iPod touch with all that stuff you always wished Apple included
Creative has revealed its latest iPod fighting device called the Zii Egg Plaszma. Yeah that is a crappy name, but the device is sweet. If you have ever wished for an open source iPod touch you may want to look at the window and see if pigs are flying around.
The device uses the world's first flexible StemCell architecture that sports 24 floating-point processors. Creative is currently offering the device to developers as part of a SDK that sells for $399. When the Zii Egg comes to retail it will reportedly cost $199.
That is about the same, as an iPod touch so it had better be really good or Creative will have another flop on its hands. The device looks very iPhone-like with a 3.5-inch touchscreen with a 320 x 480 resolution, multi touch capability HD video camera, front facing live chat camera, 32GB of storage space AND SDHC support.
Other features include support for 1080p video out, Wi-Fi, and Flash Lite support. The PMP can even run the Android OS. Suddenly it seems pretty cool doesn’t it? Throw in the ability to make phone calls and this is everything we dreamed the iPhone 3GS would be and lacked -- if the thing works.
"You can bet that Sony built a long-term business plan about being successful in Japan and that business plan is crumbling." -- Peter Moore, 24 hours before his Microsoft resignation
