Creative earlier this year filed a patent infringement suit against Apple Inc. over design wins found in the Apple iPod; the company also filed a complaint with the International Trade Council claiming Apple has instigated further intellectual property infringement
against Creative. Apple then counter-sued Creative alleging that
the company had infringed on Apple’s patents involving displaying of data,
editing of mobile data on a desktop PC and computer icons. Creative claims that
Apple never mentioned the patents in question while Creative and Apple were in
discussions with each other.
