New drives are rugged and have lots of storage space
We always seem to need more storage on
our computers, iPods, and any other gadget that we use for storing
digital content or other media. The flash drive is no different; the
drives fill up faster than expected by many users leaving them having
to delete files or buy a new drive.
Corsair announced a couple
new
flash drives today in its rugged Flash Survivor GT family the two
new drives offer huge storage capacities of 32GB and 64GB. The drives
feature the same rugged design and construction the Flash Survivor
line is known for. The new flash drives are water resistant to 200
meters and have a shock dampening collar and EPMD seal. The flash
drive itself is secured inside an aluminum tube that provides the
protection.
“The Flash Survivor GT is the ultimate flash
drive for users requiring both high speed and extreme ruggedness,”
said John Beekley, VP of Technical Marketing at Corsair. “These
drives will carry your data and media into the harshest environment
and still provide rock-solid protection.”
Corsair offers no
performance figures for the new flash drives at this time.
Compatibility information is also unknown. However, the Flash
survivor GT will presumably support the same systems and the standard
Flash Survivor. That would mean support for Windows, Mac, and Linux
operating systems. The standard version of the drive is also
bootable.
