In the past there was no easy why of finding and comparing car insurance rates. Either people had very busy lifestyles or just didn’t know where to start.  Thanks to high-end communication systems, searches can be with just the move of finger.

Regardless of where you reside or work, it is possible to find out car insurance rates and save money. From time to time TV advertisements boost insurance benefits such as, people will get discount for just having any accidents in past three years or a discount for not having a ticket in the past three years.

This information can be found in one place, just like Expedia or Orbitz money saving place on travel and flights.  How are you able to compare and save money?

A car insurance rate is not just what you are paying for the coverage. In addition, you will be paying an agent’s commission portion.  Therefore, an insurance rate is equal to (I+C).   So the higher the rate you get, the more money an agent makes.

Let’s follow steps bellow:
1-     Check it out whether your state is one of the19 states to ban the insurance industry practice of “price optimization”; a method by which many insurers end up paying highest premium for their car insurance.
2-     Simply, pull names of the insurance companies that offers car insurance at your location
3-     Email all of them a note providing a phone number and request an insurance rate for your car
4-     Wait

In no time you will receive an email or phone call for detailed information and a quote.  At this point you have an opportunity to choose or even bargain the rate.   So far 16 states ban the practice of price optimization including Colorado, Minnesota, and Virginia.

Insurance Commissioner Katharine Wade said; that the Department of Insurance has officially warned Connecticut – based insurance companies against using the controversial pricing method that relies more on consumer buying habits than sound actuarial and risk-based principles.

Wade also stated; The Department views price optimization as a discriminatory practice and therefore a violation of state insurance law. That “It can result in two policy holders who have the same loss history and risk profile receiving two different premium increases”.
North Carolina is the only state to require that a driver hold liability insurance before a license can be issued.

Also North Carolina issues fleet license for divers without insurance, but fleet license holders only can operate rental cars. It is obvious that each state has its own rules and regulations when it comes to laws and it will always be beneficiary to check the guidelines for any work or business you are about to start.
