Rosewill looks to step out from the shadow of Newegg

Rosewill is a company that is closely associated by name with Newegg. Rosewill has been Newegg's house brand since 2004, but is now looking to spread its wings and make a name for itself. Instead of selling just on Newegg to U.S.-based customers, Rosewill now market to various other countries, further distance itself from being a Newegg-only property, and continue its reputation for value.

Rosewill Marketing Manager Chinny Chuang gave us an overview of some of the new products that are launching at CES. The first new product demo was of the Thor V2 White Edition. It supports Micro-ATX, E-ATX, and XL-ATX motherboard, features 14 tool-less drive bays (six internal 5.25", six internal 3.5", and two external), 10 expansion slots (13-inch-long graphics cards are supported), USB 3.0 connectivity, two fan controllers, and four system fans.

Also new is the new CAPSTONE line of power supplies. The CAPSTONE Series will be available in 450W, 550W, 650W, and 750W models with no modular capabilities. The CAPSTONE Modular Series will be available in 650W and 750W models. All models feature a single 12V rail, are SLI and CrossFire ready, include Active-PFC, and a 140mm cooling fan with auto speed control.

Other new products include the RX-358 USB 3.0/eSATA enclosure, RNC-MiniN2 Wireless adapter which brings 300Mbps 802.11n to devices that are lacking such support via USB 2.0, two new all-aluminum notebook coolers (the 15" RLCP-1002 and the 17.3" RLCP-1104), a range of new iPhones docks, and the rather interesting RMND-11001 lap desk.

The lap desk has legs that can adjust to many different angles thanks to locking buttons on each swiveling leg. The entire apparatus is made of aluminum alloy for sturdiness, supports up to 20" laptops (or up to 33 pods), and includes a three-port USB 3.0 hub on the bottom of the laptop stand.

Rosewill is crap

Am I the only one who has had bad luck with Rosewill products before and subsequently choose not to buy them?
This is like telling me the Zastava is bringing a new Yugo to the united states. Sure I will read the article, but will I buy one? No.

I agree. Quality is iffy. Certain products seem to be fairly high quality like my external HD case. You see this case branded under a dozen names though so I have no idea who actually makes it. I wouldn't buy a Rosewill power supply though.

Rosewill gets their products built by many different OEMs, so quality ranges drastically. Their cheap products are crap, but their high-end stuff is actually quite good. You get what you pay for.
