$12,000 in prizes go to winners

If you're a big fan of Battlefield 3 on the PC and you have what it takes to compete with the best players from North America, Gigabyte has a big tournament kicking off this month. Considering Gigabyte is a PC hardware company, it would seem this contest is only open to PC gamers. The tournament starts on March 12 and the finals will start on March 31.
You have to sign up to be able to play, so round up your plan and polish up your skills. The tournament will be playing with a mix of classic BF3 maps and newer maps from Back to Karkand. The official map list was released today and includes Siene Crossing, Grand Bazaar, Tehran Highway, Damavand Peak, Noshahr Canals, Oman (3 flag), Karkand (3 flag), and Sharqi (3 flag).
Participants in the tournament get to play for more than bragging rights, Gigabyte is offering up some nice prizes too. Gigabyte is kicking in a prize pool worth $12,000. The first-place team will win eight GV-R7970C-3G the HD 7970 video cards plus $1600. The second place team win eight unspecified next generation video cards along with $800 in cash, and the third-place team will win eight K8100+M8600 along with $400 in cash.
