The update should be appearing shortly on your Windows 8 machines via Windows Update, if it hasn't already (the official live launch time was 10 a.m. PST/1 p.m. EST).
Here's a video going over all the updates in graphical form.
The next major update to Windows -- potentially titled Windows 8.1 Update 2, Windows 8.2, or
will feature a new Metrofied start menu
, allowing Desktop traditionalists to stay in their "safe place".
Microsoft's Windows VP Joey Belfiore confirms that contrary to its expectations, Microsoft's remote analytics reveal that with the
recent changes (Boot to Desktop, etc.)
many users are spending most of their time in Desktop Mode, particularly on non-touch devices.
Microsoft also recently
announced Windows Phone 8.1
, and its decision to
offer both Windows Phone and Windows (RT/8.1) for tablets for free

"Not even close. OSX's marketshare is like 8%. Which is about 4/50ths of the PC market."
Um... 4/50 = 8%. Did you go to public school or private school? I'm just curious which education system it was that failed you so miserably.

So which education system failed you?
Last I checked:
4/50 == 8/100 == 0.08 == 8%
