Updates are supposed to bring improvements to your hardware and software that help to keep things running smoothly and more efficiently. Experience tells us that this is not always the case.

Samsung users recently got an Android 7.0 Nougat update which brings with it come questionable results.  According to a test done by Phone Arena, the Nougat update left Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge users with almost a 10% dip in their otherwise excellent battery life.

Here is what that battery change means.
Samsung Galaxy S7 – 9.4% Battery Decrease
Before the Android Nougat 7.0 update, a Galaxy S7 running Android Marshmallow showed 6 hours and 37 minutes of battery life.
After Android Nougat 7.0 was installed, the same device showed 6 hours of battery life.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge – 8.1% Batter Decrease
Before the Android Nougat 7.0 update, a Galaxy S7 running Android Marshmallow showed 7 hours and 10 minutes of battery life.
After Android Nougat 7.0 was installed, the same device showed 6 hours and 35 minutes of battery life.
