Amazon has made the move to allow developers to use its Amazon Lex voice technology in their apps.

We all know about Alexa by now.  Well, Amazon Lex is a speech recognition and interactive conversation software that uses same voice technology that is currently used by Amazon’s Alexa.

Amazon Chief Technology Officer Werner Vogl had this to say before going on stage at the Amazon Web Services Summit in San Francisco, "The cool thing about having this running as a service in the cloud instead of in your own data center or on your own desktop is that we can make Lex better continuously by the millions of customers that are using it.”

We will soon see more and more apps and products that allow for voice activated interaction.  This year’s Computer Electronics Show debuted appliances, cars and speakers that can now respond to voice commands.
