A South Korean doctor recently quit his position after it was revealed that he faked his cloning discovery last year
Hwang Woo Suk, a leading researcher at one of South Korea's top universities, had his work recently discredited
by a panel that showed evidence that Hwang never produced any stem
cells tailored to individual patients. Dr. Hwang's problems began
last month when he admitted that eggs for his research were donated by
some of his own female colleagues or purchased. Hwang has
officially resigned from his job and has promptly disappeared.
