ARINC picks up rights to market and distribute iRex's iLiad eReader in aviation industry
ARINC, Inc. announced yesterday that it has signed an agreement with iRex, manufacturer of the iLiad eReader device, to allow it to market and distribute the rebranded device to customers in the aviation industry.
The iLiad-based eFlyBook will be marketed for the aviation industry and uses including flight tracking and general aviation information including FAA charts and data for use by pilots. This information kept readily available can be extremely helpful in both day to day uses as well as emergency situations when information is required on demand.
The standard eReader model can hold up to 100MB of data on board while also featuring slots for SD and CompactFlash memory cards as well as USB ports for additional expansion and connectivity.
The eFlyBook can be purchased on the MyAirplane.com website for $899.00 and it looks like anyone with a valid credit card can get their hands on one. The package will also include all US Terminal Procedures Publication, all US IFR High & Low Enroute Charts, an Airport Facility Directory, a Complete 2006 FAR/AIM (updated each cycle).
Unfortunately, there is no word yet on flying cars for the rest of us.
