4850 X2?

What ever happened to the 4850 X2?

Everyone is asking the same question, seculation ranges from:

1. AMD wants to sell as many 4870's as it can
2. AIB partners are taking their sweet time since they are allowed to design their own PCB.
3. Waiting for Nvidia to bring the heat, and then BAM!
4. AMD promised us another product that won't happen.

I'm pretty sure it's number 3 and 1 is an effect, but since there isn't a official answer to this question, believe want you want.

Assuming that AMD has good yield on the 4870, they make more money selling a 4870, versus a 4850x2 at the same price. So the 4850x2 doesn't make a lot of sense for AMD. Of course you can crossfire two 4850's, although it doesn't help if your MB does not support crossfire.

virtual hideout's reviews suck.

What's nice about these tests is that they're quick, they're clean, and they're well cut.
who cares how lazy the reviewer is? we need to know the results and just posting a single read test doesn't constitute a review; where's the simple write test atleast?

quote:
During testing, the drive felt responsive, provided no problems , and stayed a bit warm, but never scalding to the touch.
aah, remember the days when usb drives provided problems and used to scald you... yeah, neither do i.

quote:
That being said, it's time for the conclusion
obviously just using fillers to make his/her reviews look longer.

anyone know a site with decent usb flash drive reviews?

I had the same problem few days ago with a review on rbmods if I remember correctly. Nobody else seemed to be bothered that they provided no write speed and the review overall was crap.
Probably nobody read it but they were quick to bash me.

AMD Zones Review

Ugh,

someone should point some things out to AMD Zone:
1. Don't benchmark GPU's with Crysis on AMD hardware, you're CPU limited from the get go.
2. List the GPU's in the same order they appear in the graph, makes for much nicer reading.

i wouldn't bet on ' AMD zone' using an Intel cpu for reviews.
