ANyone have the Zune?
By zombiexl on 9/21/2007 8:36:43 AM , Rating: 2
I dont own an MP3 player, but at 129 for 20GB I'm considering it.

Can anyone think of a reason not to buy one?

That would be 30GB.

Reason not to buy one: Is there anything else of higher priority that $129 would be better spent on?

A pair of shoes or a purse would have likely been a cheaper payoff ;-)

Obviously you haven't shopped for women's shoes lately. Believe me, $130 is a bargain.

What? Women don't buy their shows at PayLess? :D

I guess I'm lucky. My GF likes those "ballet flats" that Old Navy sells for $9.95 to $19.95. They've very comfortable when she's up in front of the classroom teaching all day.

The most I've seen her pay on a pair of shoes is about $60.

Yah, I feel lucky my wife has cheap tastes too Wal Mart FTW. Especially when women I work with talk about spending $500 on a pair of shoes or a purse.

It makes me sick spending $500 on a full suit + shoes + everything else which I'll usually get five or so years use out of, can't imagine spending it on a single pair of shoes that might be worn a few times.

My female coworkers usually spend 300 on a purse, but I hadn't heard anything about shoes. What they don't believe is how much we spend in computers and things like that.

Not that it matters. My wife would just take the $130 as "credit" and go spend it herself. That's why I have to be careful, everything costs twice the pricetag price for me.

My s.o. just spent 400 on two pairs of shoes when we were in Europe. Not my problem though as she pulls her own weight. If she wants to spend her money on shoes.. it's only money. Personally I'd rather spend that money on gadgets, but this is the way of the world.

That being said, she wouldn't be unhappy with a Zune, but she would make a comment that shoes would have been better. "You should have given me a giftcard instead"

I just find it funny that the whole "letter to customers" is a direct jab at Steve Jobs :-)

Definately a worthwhile read. I LOL'd at

Third, being in technology for 1+ years, give or take a year...

Also, it's worth clicking the link to look at the background wallpaper image on the Zune. I also LOL'd at that.

Yes, Woot usually posts good product write ups. This has been the best I've ever read though. Damn that was hilarious.

Agreed. It's Woot's tongue-in-cheek attitude that makes them so entertaining. Plus $130 for a 30gb media player with a much larger screen than the ipod is a great deal imho.

DDR2 prices

Wow, I've paid $320 total over the last year to buy 4x1GB of OCZ DDR2-800 Platinum (non-Revision2). Now it's a quarter the cost. Oh, technology...

Man, that is a hell of a price on the OCZ memory!

Does the coupon only work on the OCZ and does the coupon expire anytime soon?
