Sources say that Apple has chosen Thursday, October 27th to announce the new MacBook.  I called an Apple store to get some more information, but my confidential informant couldn’t confirm or deny anything about the product released at the event.

Apple usually holds announcement events on a Tuesday or Wednesday, but since Microsoft took Wednesday for the  Microsoft Surface All-in-One PC event, Thursday is the selected date.

As with all Apple events, we are looking to see what new products Apple will debut.  The current hype centers are the Mac models. There is rumored to be a new 13″ MacBook Air models with USB-C ports and a new MacBook Pro with a fancy digital display above the keyboard.  This could mean the end of the MacBook Air 11-inch model as the focus shifts to the new 13” models.

Intel’s new Skylake Iprocessors will be the CPU used in the MacBook Air. We could see new iMacs and standalone 5k monitor to replace the Thunderbolt display. This new 5K monitor is speculated to have  an internal GPU that enables MacBooks or older Macs to drive the much higher-resolution display.

According to information from a reliable Chinese supplier, Apple is planning to announce the new MacBook Pro within this month, and to begin shipping out to retailers in October. It seems all of these models are developed with support for the USB-C and Thunderbolt 3 ports in mind, and will no longer be compatible with the USB-A connector, and the MacSafe 2 and Thunderbolt 2 ports.
