Interesting, I clicked on the tweak town site, and it requested me to turn off my ad blocker. While completely in their rights to do so, I just left the site instead. Haven't come across this before.

your ads are annoying and intrusive. I will not endure them!

According to Firefox, the first page of the article is just over 10KB. However, if I copy and paste the text of that page (relevant to the article) into a .txt file, it's 930 bytes. Also, the page is about 2.5 "screens" for me at 1280x1024 and the text is only three paragraphs.

Yeah... A little bloated, I think.

I screwed them, i just opened in new browser windows each page. ta ta I win. Tweaktown you suck.

That is so retarded to tell viewers to disable programs.

if your using firefox and have noscript installed you could also bypass it by not adding tweaktown to the exception list

That's right, though the site will display in a disfigured way!

BTW, Don't they deserve some ad revenue?

I use Opera Mini 4.1 and there is no popup or whatsoever here?? (and yeah, I've clicked the TweakTown link) Maybe it's time for you guys to switch to another browser bandwagon? ;-} For me, Opera is like a Godsend, and FYI, I had been a Firefox fanboy before (for maybe like 4 years?), and after I knew Opera, it's like.. Firefox and IE doesn't even exist! (yeah I know, it might be only me ^ ^)

Seems to be the way winds are blowing. Isn't Hulu doing the same thing with ABP? I also remember the guy who runs Guru3d threatening to disable people's accounts if he found them using ad blockers. I never knew whether he was being serious or not. It's dumb. They get the ad revenue regardless of whether I see it or not. It won't be long before they invent a chip for your TV that prevents you from changing the channel during commercials. lol

No Hulu is not effected by ABP.

And it still has an F*ing VGA port and modem. When does obsoletion start?

If you have $2,000 to spend on a laptop, what reason could possibly preclude a VGA-to-DVI dongle and a decent internet connection.

Not sure what your problem is...

It has an HDMI connection. You can get (or perhaps get with it) an HDMI->DVI dongle.

What has including a modem port got to do with having a slow internet connection? It has gigabit eithernet and Wifi (110mbit I think) which is plenty fast enough for any internet connectivity.

The answer is, of course, they want to pull money from your pocket as much as they can! :,D
