There’s no argument that Neversoft did a great job on Guitar Hero III, but many fans of the rock rhythm genre are anxiously waiting for Rock Band from the original Guitar Hero developer Harmonix. Gamers in the U.S. will be getting their rock on with Rock Band next week, but some sad, sad news comes for those who want to rock out in Canada.
While Canada and the U.S. usually share street dates, EA and MTV Games have apparently delayed the game’s release nearly a month north of the American border. Rock Band will ship in Canada on December 17.

To add insult to injury for Canadian gamers, Best Buy announced that dozens of stores will open at midnight on Tuesday, November 20 for the release of Rock Band – all in the United States only.
Guitar Hero III Boosts DragonForce Sales
English power metal band’s track “Through the Fire and Flames” was featured as the ending song and bonus track to Guitar Hero 3. Apparently players of the latest guitar game liked the song so much that they decided to pay good money for the band’s full album. Sales of the DragonForce album Inhuman Rampage increased 126 percent week-on-week following Guitar Hero III’s release.
Xbox 360 Fall 2007 Dashboard Update Coming This Winter
For one reason or another, this Xbox 360 Fall update is coming a little later than expected. Now slated for December 2, details of what will be included in the update are scant. What will likely be added is the ability to download and play original Xbox games on the Xbox 360 – mirroring a feature currently available on the PlayStation Network.
Mike Newell says Prince of Persia Movie is Not a Videogame Movie
Confirmed director of the upcoming Princeof Persia movie said, “It's not a videogame movie. It's a great story. Ifyou had read the script, you would know that it wasn't a videogame. It's very exciting and it's immensely romantic and it's like Lost Horizon. It takes you to somewhere you've never been ... There's so much that will happen with that story because it's 1300 years ago.”

Marky Mark is currently in talks with Twentieth Century Fox on his potential role as Max Payne inthe movie based on the computer game. While the lead actor role has yet to beofficially confirmed, director John Moore (Behind Enemy Lines, Flight of the Phoenix and The Omen) is set to direct.
